I didn't know this guy reviews the HTC One M8S but he was only advising people that this phone obviously isn't in the same league as the HTC phone but it is a lot better than most of the competition in its price range which is the HTC One mini which I think he was talking about when he made his comparison before the giving his final verdict. I'd say the Moto G 2015 deserves at at 4 stars. I'd also give my phone, the Moto G 4G 2nd Gen 4 stars as well.

  2. Dr. Khalil Gottlieb V says:

    Did they keep it?

  3. Judge Trantow says:

you know when people insult others, it is generally bc they don't have a brain themselves and have limited analytical and reasoning skills.

  4. Dr. Kennedi Russel says:

    blah blah blah blah blah.

  5. Lonie Hessel says:

I have the Moto G 4G 2nd Gen, why did they remove the twist to open from the 2nd generation Moto G?

  6. Ashlynn Kuhic says:

Oh joy another trolling moron who actually has nothing better to do than troll a 8 Month old thread LOL

  7. Bruce Dickinson says:

What a very twisted and misleading review this is. There is no way this phone deserves the score it has been awarded.
The Play has to be more than a half a star better and the Style is a better phone still. What's that then a 6.5 out of 5 star phone ??

  8. Delphine Zieme says:

TechRadar do not categorise phones into budget / midrange /flagship.If they did your point about this phone being midrange would be valid.
No midrange phones should be scoring over 4 stars when in competition (as they are) with flagship phones.

I question this review based on the reviewer talking up the weak Cortex-A53

"These are from the same family of cores used in top-end Snapdragon 810 devices like the HTC One M9",

Yes its explained that these are the weaker cores, however this reviewer seems to have no Idea of context.

He talks the same cores down in his HTC M8s review

"this one only has the lesser Cortex-A53 "

As well as comparing these midrange phones to flagship phones for screen quality comparisons. Utter stupidity.

Price is a factor but it holds too much sway here. The M8's is easily a better phone than than this one and is the exact same price on contract.
However for some reason this scores 4.5 while the HTC scores 3.5.

Yes its a good phone and probably one of if not the best one in its class.
    I'm not questioning the phone.
I'm questioning the score and the competence of this reviewer, who is contradicting himself between reviews and omitting some issues(the exact same issues) he makes a real deal out of in others.

  9. Brooke Wiegand II says:

    Very true

  10. Salvador Yost says:

I disagree. My Moto G died after 1 year of use. I went into Settings and set the Encryption ON. It fried my phone…couldn't even factory reset. To me, that's not a good investment when buying a phone. This Android feature should not have fried my phone.

  11. Christy Cremin Sr. says:

you seem to be new at this, but specs =/= performance. an optimized s/w is equally as important.

  12. Ms. Madelyn Yundt DDS says:

have you heard of Vodafone Smart Ultra 6?

  13. Antonette Windler II says:

    Proof of moronic brain.

  14. Catherine Cruickshank says:

Bring Moto Maker for the third gen G to Canada and I'd be sold.

  15. Jeanne Gibson says:

Vodafone Smart Ultra 6 is a better buy. its better then Moto E and Moto G.
Vodafone smart Ultra 6 cost £125. nothing can beat it at that price range.

  16. Torrey Nolan V says:

this was the 1st moto g to have the twist feature. before this it was only available on the x series

  17. Stephan Morar says:

I don't understand how Techradar are giving this phone 1.5 extra stars over the Vodafone Smart Prime 6? They share almost identical specs and the Vodaphone is priced much more competitively. I detect a tad bit of bias here…

Prime example being how the performance is rated for both these phones: "Lacklustre performance" for the Vodaphone (listed as a con), "Great performance" For the Moto G (listed as plus). And yet, they share the SAME EXACT processor. How does this make any objective sense at all? If anything, the verdict should be the other way around since the Vodafone offers the same power for a lower price. Not impressed guys!

  18. Haylee Langosh says:

Yes I have but I care about updates, while its a very good mid range phone for the price, it won't get updates plus I already own a Nexus 6 so I've no need for something like this now.

  19. Prof. Greta Dicki says:

It's a mid range phone and a very good one at its price according to this review and I can't see why you would question this review. I have the Moto G 4G 2nd Gen great phone for its price. With a quite a good camera.

  20. Mr. Stephen Bahringer says:

I ordered mine to my parents house in New York. Oh well.

  21. Miss Lois Sanford DDS says:

Oh I see. It makes sense as the Moto G is very important to Motorola after how well it's done for Motorola. Just one thing? Have you experienced any lag using the Moto G 1st and 2nd Gen when browsing Techradar? I have with my Moto G 4G 2nd Gen and can get ready annoying. Especially when I load up the comments section it's probably due to the 1GB of RAM and the SD400 processor and Google Chrome. Honestly when I had my iPhone 5s Techradar loads very quickly with Safari but with Chrome on iOS it lagged as well. What givess? Other than minor annoyance I love my Moto G 4G 2nd Gen. The Moto G 2015 is very good phone for its price and I'd say I'd say it's best in class even though it has competition now because Motorola doesn't add bloat as it's pretty much stock Android with only a few apps. I'm going to get the Moto X Style, but I'd recommend to Moto G 2015 to anyone looking for an inexpensive phone. I'd recommend the 16GB version 2GB of RAM though.

  22. Dr. Antonina Kemmer II says:

anyone know when or where the 16GB/ 2GB RAM version is available? I can only find it direct from the Motorola site at the moment…

  23. Emely Hilll says:

DON'T BUY THIS PHONE!!!! I set my security feature to Encryption in the Settings and it killed my phone. The phone was only a year old at the time. I couldn't factory reset it either. I also found the phone to be slow often. I now have the Sony Xperia M4 Aqua (E2306) and it's way better.

  24. Nelle Towne V says:

    yeah exactly.

  25. Melvin Mertz says:

for it's price, it deserves that, at least… no question.
