Woah… I'm doing them right. Enjoying my time there and not pointing my phone at the stage the entire time 😛

Asha 301 will take decent enough photos for social media when you get back if that's the sort of thing you want to do. Personally, I just enjoy my time there with mates, taking the occasional crappy photo on the crappy phone I take with me. Watch the festival back a month or so later on Sky Arts. Hasn't failed me yet over the past decade or so 🙂

  2. Melisa Howell says:

If you're relying on TV to cover a festival you're REALLY doing festivals wrong.

Besides it's all about the photo "you've" taken not some nameless journo.

  3. Afton Larkin IV says:

Heavy battery cases for iPhones or Samsung changing internal battery doesn't matter to me anymore…

Sony Z3 Compact, easily lasts 4-5 days with low usage, which it will be a Glaston!
Even if you wanted to video record the whole event, you can still get 2 days usage. Best phone ever for events like this, and the best feature of all… Waterproof!!!

  4. Rachael Stiedemann II says:

The best tip for anyone that goes to Glastonbury is this:

Don't take anything with you that you would be sad to not be bringing back. Purge yourself of responsibilities and you will have a 100% better time there.

So take a burner…but nothing else.. you don't need it.

  5. Shannon Borer says:

I've taken disposable cameras to every festival I've ever been to and they've been fine. Better than fine, in fact. They've been great. As I said above, they have flashes these days so you can use them at night and in tents – it's all very 1999. But sure, if you're desperate to take a photos of the bands (which, on a side note, I seriously question what the point of is) then, like I said, it might not be the option for you. Fair point on removable batteries though.

  6. Prof. Austyn Abshire II says:

    1. Again you've ignored the fact some phones do still have removable batteries! Get stuffed with an external battery and just take a phone with an internal one.

Particularly at a festival when you've got to carry it around with a paperweight stuck to the bottom otherwise.

    2. Disposable cameras take atrocious pictures. They're non-starters
for festivals (no ability to shoot at night, no ability to shoot in a
tent, no ability to zoom to see singers).

  7. Mr. Noah McKenzie DVM says:

If you want to push the boat out, get an Asha 301 (load it with MP3s and take a headset to pick up radio) and a pop up speaker.

Media will take better pictures than you and most big festivals are covered on the telly.
