  1. Miss Marisa King says:

If anything hinders this device it will be the price, I think for the people who love using a physical keyboard this is a total winner….,……. Many won't care for the physical keyboard though especially the younger people who haven't ever experienced the joys of a decent proper physical keyboard.

  2. Kyleigh Corkery says:

The whole "it's just too late" line is starting to look a little stupíd as the years go by and writers should really get over it. BB has made it pretty clear they're not going away so reviewers need to stop copy and pasting lines from 3 year old articles. When I look at my Nexus 5 and try to figure out what to get next the ONLY phone that has something different from the standard slab phones that all look exactly the same is BB. Ironically, it turns out that BB is the only company that's innovating and reviewers actually don't appreciate innovation because they don't understand it.

  3. Dr. Deon Legros I says:

As I've come to expect from Tech Radar: this review makes little sense. 'Too late' for what exactly?
And what competition is the reviewer referring too there are no other slide androids around as far as I know.

  4. Prof. Lizzie Wilderman V says:

Actually has a competition. that's called Huawei Mate-S. If you know

  5. Russel Schmitt says:

    >"Lacks premium build quality"
Huh? Because the back isn't made of glass? Or is it because it isn't a metal phone?

  6. Foster Fisher says:

especially as windows mobile is the most secure os..

  7. Luis Wyman PhD says:

See, I would argue that BB10 is more secure, seeing that it's base, QNX, is running in the Phones, Cars, Power plants…

  8. Maynard Abshire says:

At the current price the priv is probably a bit of a reach for a large number of people (as seen by the commentary pretty much everywhere) who would be happy to go with a cheaper phone from Samsung, LG, Sony or any other big brand

  9. Roman Wilderman DVM says:

A hacker said it was the hardest to hack into

  10. Stephany Stark says:

Of course it has competition, this is competing against every other top end android device, the iphone and I guess you could say the top end Windows devices too. Just because it has some unique features doesn't mean it has no competition.

  11. Ophelia Beahan says:

The camera is better than I thought it would be and the SECURITY is fantastic. This is a brilliant smartphone if you have security concerns and the screen and camera are top notch….and I love me dat keyboard.

  12. Rosalyn Streich says:

    MINE IS PREMIUM!

  13. Dr. Schuyler Moen Jr. says:

I don't think it's too late at all. And the PRIV holds its own against everything else on the market. I just picked one up today, and it's quite lovely.

  14. Laurel O'Connell says:

The price will soon drop from the RRP, that I would bet on.
Sales dependant will determine how quickly.

They need to put a top end price on it just so the review sites consider it in the same 'Premium' category.

Most are already so heavily duped by apple, they nitpick everything on another model and hardly mention any of the iphones many shortcomings.

  15. Mr. Micah Hills says:

Comments about price seem to forget that this model goes up against the iphone 6plus, not the 6.

They don't do a 32gb model for direct comparison (or a sd slot), but the 16gb model is £640 or the 64gb £715 (make the BB 64gb+ with a £10 memory card).

That means the BB is a good £100 cheaper than apples nearest basic offering, and £150 to the more realistic offering.

  16. Nikolas Ferry says:

just too late for what? For Blackberry? honestly at this point who cares. Its common knowledge the company Blackberry ain't doing well, yet they manage to put out an android device that has a lot going for it. The Priv itself it deserves a full review. Sadly, most reviewers include Blackberry's hardships in their opinons.

  17. Terry Buckridge says:

I would love to have a physical keyboard again, I despise typing on anything smaller than an 8 inch screen. Seems pretty solid really, my work phone is an lg G3 and its full plastic fantastic but still a decent phone.

  18. Frank Cormier says:

Its better in fact. On Huawei. You have to play with it to know what it can do

  19. Karli Rau says:

Too late, right. I guess Acura and Toyota and Hundai and Kia and many other car manufacturers were too late, they entered the market more than 50 years after cars were invented. And Nike was too late, too, it was founded in 1964, when Keds (since 1917) and Addidas (1948) owned the athletic shoe market. And how about Apple, and Microsoft, relative to IBM? There isn't enough space here to list all the examples of why that is a ludicrous statement.

  20. Chadrick Block says:

the reason people are buying so many iPhones are because Apple are very well recognised brand, they're easy to use, and lets face it, people buy it because their friends have it. Do you think OnePlus would have succeeded if they sold their first phone for as much as an iPhone? Blackberry are probably less common than OnePlus phones, or at least their interest for BlackBerry has fallen. Look at Motorola, when they decided to get back into the smartphone game, did you notice that they made high quality BUDGET phones? I have no doubt that the BlackBerry Priv is a good phone, and if it were made by Samsung or something, then the price would be a lot more fair, but not for a company whose future depends on this device selling well, and I don't see how they think a phone from a dead company will sell well when it costs more than an iPhone

  21. Timmy Brekke says:

If you don't think it will sell mainly because of the price, explain why apple sells so many iphones?

Or do you think they have some special hook on the sheeple who buy it regardless of the price?

The price will soon drop from the RRP unlike apple products who aren't prepared to negotiate. Even so, maybe some would be prepared to pay a slight premium for a better phone and a keyboard?

  22. Mr. Cornelius O'Reilly DVM says:

Blackberry are back with a brilliant new phone+
Great to see you back BB .. I just placed my order for a new Priv.
    Christmas is ON again :)))

  23. Mrs. Ova Prosacco II says:

does that mean the iPhone has no competition, as its the only phone with 3D touch?

  24. Jeffry Beer says:

The battery life is horrendous and the phone gets quite hot. Otherwise a nice phone but a serious problem for BlackBerry with no solution in sight.

  25. Gerson Swift says:

its not really the same though
