Last week, we shared the news that some Leica Q2 owners were facing an issue wherein the DNG files from their cameras were unreadable when using the Q2’s ‘Continuous Super Speed mode.’ At the time, Leica said it was aware of the issue and assured a fix was on the way. Now, it’s made right on its promise by delivering a new firmware update.
Firmware version 1.1 addresses the DNG file readability issue and includes several other small changes. Specifically, Leica says it’s improved the stability of transferring images from Q2 cameras to mobile devices when using the Leica FOTOS app, made attached flash units trigger more than once when using ‘Burst Shooting Mode,’ improved the performance of DNG + JPG shooting and addressed an issue with interval shooting in Drive Mode that caused frames to be lost when shooting continuously.
In addition to the firmware itself (direct download), Leica has provided a PDF with installation instructions.
