    Even HoloLens isn't holographic in the way the author suggests. It uses a shaped light system to project images onto two screens that are placed in front of the eyes of the viewer – having two images is what creates the 3D effect – essentially exactly like what happens when you watch a 3D movie in a theatre. This is similar to the 'holographic display' in cars except in this case, only one image is projected and there's no 3D effect at all..

    The term 'hologram' has taken a huge beating lately.
